The Chauvet was originally built in 1906 and celebrated its centennial with a spectacular restoration and renovation, painstakingly accomplished over two years. The Chauvet has just received a prestigious award from the Sonoma Valley League for Historic Preservation.

The result is an historic landmark building with six luxurious condominiums, rejuvenated with locally made brick and reappointed by craftsmen, while upscale interior and state-of-the art amenities have been added.

Each unit is generously sized at almost 2,000 square feet. The large master bedrooms include a huge walk-in closet. The other two bedrooms in each unit are spacious as well. Bathrooms boast designer fixtures, whirlpool tubs and separate, glass enclosed showers, with some handicapped accessible features in Unit 1A and 1B.

The kitchen would please any gourmet, and is outfitted with custom cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, wine cooler and commercial-style gas cooktop, among other delights.

Of course, if you don’t want to cook for yourself, you are just steps away from Glen Ellen’s “restaurant row” with a myriad of delicious choices and a tasting room…or walk across the street to Glen Ellen’s own gourmet market. A brief walk south brings you to Jack London Village with the local cheesemonger, chocolate shop (made on site), olive press and market, fantastic deli, market of locally produced gourmet items and another tasting room.

Add to this vision the lovely outdoor, heated pool with sundeck patio, accessible from your own wide balcony off the master bedroom, and the views of the surrounding hillsides and native oak trees from every large picture window framed by brick arches.

You will be more than comfortable at any time of year, with energy efficient air conditioning and heating, a gas fireplace, full soundproofing, elevator access and private garage.

Please note: The pool is open year-round, however is not heated Nov. 1 through Apr. 30, per County regulations.

In addition, you will receive the Sonoma Valley Wine Tasting passport for complimentary tastings for each guest at 25+ Sonoma Valley wineries at check-in.

Maximum occupancy 6 adults, except in 1B which can accommodate 8 with sofa bed. The conditions and restrictions at The Chauvet allow for a maximum of one vacation rental per week.

Exclusively for guests at The Chauvet is the use of this beautifully elegant picnic basket to take on your travels. Fill it up with your choice of gourmet goodies from the Glen Ellen Village Market and of course any of our wine partners, and it will carry you through to a full day of wine country pleasure. Please reserve the use of the basket in advance through the Glenelly office. An additional security deposit will be required.

POLICIES
An advance payment equal to 50% of the total rent shall be required at the time of making the reservation. The balance will be due 30 days prior to the arrival date, at which time the cancellation policy will be in effect. Please note that the credit card number on file will be used to process the balance on it's due dates as stated in your confirmation letter. Should you wish to use a different credit card number than the one on file, you must contact us two days prior to the due date of the remaining balance. If you request to change credit cards after the charge has been run, a fee equal to 3% of the charge amount for Visa, Mastercard or Discover and 5% of the charge amount for American Express may be assessed.

There is a two night minimum stay at all times, and a three night minimum stay required on all holiday periods and event weekends. Properties with three or more bedrooms require a three night minimum on high season weekends (May through November). These policies may be waived, under certain circumstances and at the discretion of management, with payment of a $720 nighly rate.

Cancellations received earlier than 30 days prior to the reservation will receive a full refund less a $75 cancellation fee. Cancellations received later than 30 days prior to the arrival date will result in a forfeiture of the entire amount due for the stay. In the event of such late cancellation, the guest will receive a refund for any nights that can be rebooked. Group bookings of three units or more have special policies, please call or e.mail for more information.

Check-in is between 3 and 6 PM, and check-out is at 11 am. Special arrangements must be made IN ADVANCE for early or late check-ins, or late check-outs, and every effort will be made to accommodate such special requests whenever possible. A refundable security deposit of $500 per unit will be required at check-in, with signed liability release.

Children are welcome. Pets may be allowed in designated units, with an additional security deposit and by advance arrangement only. Smoking is restricted to outdoor areas.

Please take note of the bed configurations as spelled out on the website. Please notify us at least 72 hours in advance and preferably at the time of reservation if you would like the beds set up differently than the norm as stated on the website. If such a change is requested less than 72 hours in advance of your arrival, you will be assessed an additional charge of $50-$100, depending on the time frame.
