FARMHOUSE 148 ... Kenwood. Luxury abounds in this 2100 + sq.ft. (3 bedroom and 2 bathroom) Wine Country retreat. This beautiful home is nestled in the “Valley of the Moon” in the heart of rolling hills, world renowned vineyards, wineries, restaurants and parks.

Farmhouse 148 is a spacious two-story mini estate constructed with amazing attention to detail and high-end finish work and complete with comfortably luxurious furnishings.

Throughout the home you will find elements of design that were salvaged and given new life, such as the antique oak hardwood floors (specially milled for this home), hand – picked fir beams and Italian stone floors which were surplus inventory purchased from an architect who procured all of the material for the Apple Stores..

The main floor houses a fantastic great room, gourmet kitchen, 1st bedroom, full bathroom, media room/extra guest space and laundry.

The delightful great room/kitchen area is perfect for entertaining. The great room features vaulted open-beam ceilings, banks of windows, a spacious living area with comfortable seating and a large gas fireplace.
The fully stocked kitchen is a chef’s dream with top-of-the-line Viking stainless steel appliances, honed granite counter tops, counter stools and a large wooden table that seats 8-10.

The 1st bedroom on the lower level opens to the peaceful backyard. The room has a very comfortable queen sized bed, walk-in closet and well-appointed bathroom with a shower/tub combination and cement sinks restored from Sonoma Cast Stone; a local high-end supplier of cast metal pieces. Open the sliding doors to enjoy the moonlit evenings.

The media room/extra guest space acts as a den by day and can be sectioned off by a sliding door to create a room by night. The den features a large, flat screen television and a sectional couch with a very comfortable pull-out queen sleeper sofa, designed by a company that furnishes the Trump and the Ritz Carlton properties.

The upstairs houses the master bedroom and bathroom. In addition to a sitting area, the bedroom has a king sized TempurPedic bed, large closet and huge windows offering wonderful views of the backyard and countryside beyond.

The master bath is a spa haven. There is a large shower, soaking tub, private water closet and dual concrete sinks.

The home has a large, sunny, manicured back yard with many outdoor seating areas, fruit trees, fire-pit, BBQ and large hot tub. A perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or BBQ get-together between family and friends.

The 2 car garage hosts a game room and seating area. Challenge your friends to a game of table tennis or darts.

Kenwood is a wonderful town and we are fortunate to have a home that is only blocks from tasting rooms, wineries, parks and restaurants. You can spend a few days tasting great wines without ever needing to get in your car. Or, start the day at some of the other wineries a few miles away, then come home, park the car and walk to the local places.

Some local tasting rooms within walking distance are:

VJB – right down the street on Shaw. It has wonderful wine and prosecco plus a woodburing oven for pizza and sandwiches. It also has a deli and small market.

En Garde - B Wise - Ty Canton - Enkidu - Mayo – Muscardini, Paradise Ridge and Saint Anne’s Crossing
are all within a short walking distance.

Within a short drive away you can be at Ledson, St Francis, BR Cohn, Chateau St Jean, Kunde, Kaz, Loxton, Blackstone and Imagery.

You can also walk to Café Citti for lunch or dinner.

There are many other restaurants a short drive away in Glen Ellen (10 minutes), Sonoma (20 minutes) and Santa Rosa (20 minutes). Try the Glen Ellen Star, Fig Café or Yeti in Glen Ellen; all are excellent choices.

For convenience you can walk to the Kenwood grocery store, or a short drive away in Glen Ellen is a fabulous place; the Glen Ellen market. It has everything you need to create a delicious dinner or gourmet picnic lunch.

Don’t forget to try the farm stand (in season) with delicious strawberries and homemade jam right on Sonoma Highway.

And lastly, we can’t forget the parks. Right down the street is Shaw Park. Other parks close by are Sonoma Valley Regional, Jack London State Park, Sugarloaf, Hood Mountain, Anadale and Spring Lake.
