Rental Agreement
To place a reservation, the primary renter must agree to our Rental Agreement, which you can read here.

Use of Premises
Our vacation rental properties may be used for overnight lodging and quiet enjoyment. No parties, weddings, etc. If in doubt, send us an email.

Maximum Occupancy
Maximum overnight occupancy and maximum non-overnight occupancy are established by local ordinances and are strictly enforced.

Children
Children are welcome with the caveat that children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Pools and spas may not be fenced. A Release of Liability is part of our Rental Agreement.

Check-In and Check-Out
Properties are accessed by combination door locks. Check-in is 4:00 pm. Check-out is 11:00 am. Early check-in is possible by prior arrangement, but can only be confirmed several days prior to arrival.

Rent and Tax Deposits

A deposit of 50% of rent+tax is due when a reservation is placed. The remaining 50% balance of rent+tax is due 30 days prior to arrival date.

Quiet Hours
Sonoma County quiet hours are from 10 pm – 9 am, some properties quiet hours are from 9 pm – 9 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at vacation rentals at all times. Quite hours are strictly enforced.

Damage Insurance Policy
A damage Insurance policy is purchased by each renter through RentalGuardian – no action is needed as each policy is summitted by our office staff and will cover between $1500 and $3000 depending upon the size of the property. Intentional damage isn’t covered and will be prosecuted with the full extent of the law. If something does break, please let the property manager know immediately as we will do our best to replace or fix the problem prior to your departure. Reported broken/missing items will be viewed in a much more understanding light.

In the event that a pet is permitted there will be an additional Security Deposit of at least $1000(but could be as much as $5000) and is due 30 prior to arrival date. The Security Deposit may be retained by Sonoma Valley Escapes to compensate property owners for property damages and losses, as outlined in our Rental Agreement. Security Deposits will be refunded, less any damages or losses, within 10 days of departure.

Local Taxes
Vacation rental receipts are subject to local lodging tax. Currently, the tax rate for properties in the City of Sonoma is 15% and the tax rate for properties in the unincorporated County of Sonoma is 14%. If tax rate(s) change between date reservation is placed and date guest arrives, guests will be charged/credited amount of change.

 

 

Pool/Hot Tub/Spa

For properties with a pool, hot tub or spa all liabilty regarding primary renter, their dependents, daily guests and pets is assumed by primary renter.  No lifeguard is on duty and all uses of the pool / hot tub / spa must be closely monitored.  Heating the pool is offered as a additional service.  Heating charges vary depending upon the property and time of the year.  Please request heating in writing with Sonoma Valley Escapes.  Guests can make a request that the manager of the property turn off the heater during their stay. This will only affect the pool heating price if the pool is being heated on a daily basis.  Daily rates are engaged after the first week is paid in full.   Vacation rental receipts are subject to local lodging tax. Pets

Pets are not allowed. Service Animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, are welcome. Please let us know in advance what work or task the dog has been trained to perform.

Smoking
Smoking is not allowed inside vacation rental buildings. Smoking may be allowed outside in designated areas only. Check property listing for details.

Housekeeping

Our vacation rental homes are beautiully furnished, fully equipped and thoroughly cleaned between bookings.

Expectations Not Met
Guests should notify us immediately during their stay if expectations are not met or if they experience a problem. We can’t fix everything immediately, but we’ll do our best to solve or mitigate issues as best as we can, provided we’ve been notified in a timely manner.

Cancellation Refunds
Please let us know as soon as possible by email if you need to cancel.
Our refund policy is:

  • 100% refund for cancellations at least 30 days prior to schedule arrival date.
  • 50% refund for cancellations between 14-30 days prior to scheduled arrival date.
  • 0% refund for no-shows or cancellations within 14 days of scheduled arrival
